Self-Preserving Cosmetics
Concerns over traditional preservatives such as parabens have forced consumers to become more informed about the ingredients in the products they use.

Chemicals in the paraben family have been under the spotlight for a number of years, with a number of scientific studies highlighting potential hazards in a number of consumer products that include many cosmetic and toiletry products.

Conventional cosmetic preservatives use a harsh, aggressive approach to kill bacteria, mold and fungi. Utilizing less aggressive "hurdle technology" together with a common food-grade preservative creates a hostile environment within the formulation for microbes to overcome and increases the self-preserving environment of formulations.
